Year 10 Tunnock Teacake Challenge
On Wednesday, 26th May 2021, our Year 10 Hospitality and Catering students participated in the Tunnock Teacake Challenge 2021 during their lesson. The Tunnock Teacake had to be the focal point. The students had to firstly, produce a detailed time plan with an annotated sketch. They had the opportunity to apply 3 or more decorative techniques that they had learned and practised since our return in January 2021, such as piped Chantilly cream, a combination of chocolate work - filigree, shapes & coating, edible soil, sugar work - honeycomb and brandy snap, spun sugar, coulis, white/milk chocolate ganache, lemon curd, vanilla custard, sorbet, gelato or ice cream. The students have also developed their plating skills and this is evident in their presentation. Well done Year 10 Hospitality and Catering Students. You have demonstrated skilful techniques and such effective time management.
