Bishop Wand STEM Clubs
Our Bishop Wand STEM clubs have had a fantastic few weeks, welcoming inspiring guest speakers!
On Monday, 3rd November 2025, the Astronomy Club hosted a member of the Muslim Astronomers group. He captivated students by sharing his passion, giving a fascinating talk on identifying objects in the night sky, and even showing off his impressive telescope.
On Thursday, 27th November 2025, the Environmental Society welcomed guests from the Spelthorne Council's Environmental and Pollution team. Their discussion focused on the critical topic of air quality. They shared valuable national data, explained local community efforts, and helped students analyse their own data collection projects.
These visits provided students with brilliant insights into real-world science and community involvement. It has been an exciting opportunity to discuss, share ideas, and learn from experts in both the cosmos and our local environment.
Both clubs welcome new members and are held on Mondays and Thursdays, respectively, in S3.
