Year 8 Cricket Round 1 Cup Win
A team of Year 8's beat Thamesmead School in Round 1 in the Cricket District Cup. Thamesmead batted first, setting a respectable score of 60 in 10 overs, meaning Bishop Wand needed 61 runs to win. This target was achieved within five overs, all done without losing a single wicket!
Thamesmead kindly agreed to let us continue to complete out 10 overs so that all students who played got the opportunity to bat, some playing their first hardball cricket game in the process! A wonderful afternoon of cricket.
Stand out performers go to Max for great leadership and a quick fire 25 with the bar before retiring, Lucas for some handy work with the gloves behind the stumps and Naveen, who bowled two fantastic overs!
Well done!
