Outstanding A Level Results

The Bishop Wand Sixth Form will be sending students across the country in September following today's outstanding A level results.

Oxford, Manchester, Durham, Southampton and Birmingham are just some of the university towns our students will be joining in September following the outstanding academic outcomes at The Bishop Wand Sixth Form today. We are celebrating with the 64 students who achieved a 98% pass rate, with 44% of all grades falling in the A*-B category and 20% falling in the A* A grade boundary.

This is an excellent year for the students and staff at The Bishop Wand CofE School.
I am thrilled by these results and the achievements of our students at the School. To achieve these results against the national backdrop is spectacular and is down to the high quality of teaching and learning and the dedication of students and teachers. Joseph Kershaw led the way this year with 4 A* grades in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics and will be reading Chemistry at The University of Durham.

We are pleased after supporting a student to achieve a place at Cambridge last year we have built upon that success with Simone Norowzian obtaining a place at Oxford to read Classics and English literature.  Furthermore, one of our students achieved a prized place to study Medicine at Southampton. A legacy of outstanding outcomes and aspirations is embedded at Bishop Wand, of which we are all very proud.

In our BTEC Business cohort of 14 students 4 achieved the top Distinction grade with 3 achieving the prestigious Distinction Star award. I am delighted by of all our students’ results and the university places and apprenticeship programmes they will embark upon in September.
