Mayor's Civic Reception

On Tuesday 3rd May 2016, four of our Year 7 students were invited personally by the Mayor of Spelthorne, Mark Francis, to attend and support at his annual Civic Reception at Shepperton Studios. Rocco Priestley, our bubbly Youth Speaks Intermediate Chairperson, took to his role immediately by introducing the Mayor and Mayoress to every guest attending the evening in the Mayor’s procession. Our Intermediate Youth Speaks angels Abigail Lucas and Emily Vanstone addressed over one hundred people and invited each charity spokesperson to collect their personal donation from the Mayor.

To end a superb evening, the wonderful Ellee Faulker wowed the crowd as she performed two of her favourite songs. Ellee sang absolutely beautifully, melting the hearts of the audience.

The Mayor spoke very fondly and highly of our students, expressing that "Spelthorne has talent". I am incredibly proud to have supported the students at the event and of their achievements. It has been an absolute pleasure and privilege to work with them for the event.

I would personally like to thank Miss Watson-Jones and for all her support and help with the musical and technical arrangements for the evening. We couldn’t have done it without you.
