OFSTED Inspection Report

I am pleased to announce confirmation of our School’s Ofsted inspection, which took place on the 24th January 2017.

Our School has once again been judged as “Good” and the Inspectorate commented on the improvement in the quality of Teaching and Learning, and how pupils are making better progress overall since the last inspection.

Having now been Headteacher at The Bishop Wand School for just over two years, it was pleasing to read how the Leadership Team have been credited with working effectively to drive forward improvements and the aspirations of both the teachers and students across the whole School. Since the last inspection, our Leadership Team have appropriately developed theknowledge of staff, enriched the curriculum, and ensured that classroom practice supports pupils well. Most of our students exceed national progress targets. The report is available to download below.

My vision for our School remains to create an environment where all children succeed, are empowered with the skills to participate in a global society, realise their God-given potential and most importantly, are happy and enjoy their time at School.

We will continue to strive to achieve the best results for all our students and to work towards a rating of “Outstanding” in our next inspection. I am sure that, when you have read the report, you will be as proud as I am about being part of a School which has skilfully balanced the importance of examination results and our Christian ethos.

I would like to thank all the students, staff, parents, and governors who contributed to the Ofsted inspection and for the role they play in making Bishop Wand such a special school.
