The Bishop Wand Church of England School offers your child a wonderful education in a friendly caring environment. Our aim is to provide all young people with an education based on Christian values that will lead to them being competent, confident and articulate members of the adult world.

We attach great importance to developing interests and skills that meet the needs of each individual student, so valuing their unique worth.

Success in public examinations is important, as they are the qualifications required to move into Higher Education and employment. The excellent results achieved at GCSE and Advanced levels confirm the School’s ability to successfully prepare students for the next phase of their lives.

The School is currently going through a transitional stage and I am personally delighted to be staying as the Acting Headteacher until a new headteacher is appointed, hopefully for the Spring Term 2010.

Since joining the School in mid June, in an interim Headteacher capacity, I have been very impressed by the work and atmosphere of the School and in particular the talents of both staff and students.

The School has tremendous capacity to develop further and make rapid strides, leading to further success, both collectively and individually".
