O2 Learn Competition: We won!

We are delighted to share with you the fantastic news that we have won the national O2 Learn Competition. The School received a cheque for £100,000 at a special assembly on Friday 14th October 2011 which was attended by BBC presenter Dr Yan Wong. The atmosphere in the sports hall was electric as staff and students received the brilliant news. Gav Thompson, creator of O2 learn presented the cheque to Mr Miller. Mr Miller said "We are absolutely delighted and honoured to win this competition which celebrates excellence......

Sixth Form Charity Fundraising

Bishop Wand school During the last week of the Autumn term, our School raised over £1800 for Tearfund, our school charity.  Sixth Form Students were aiming to raise more money in one week than we did in an entire year last year...and they did it!  The totaliser in the foyer currently reads.......

University Offers

Bishop Wand School Despite the rise in tuition fees for September 2012 many of our students remain committed to continuing into higher education.

Over 35 year 13 students have sent off their applications to Universities across England, Scotland and Wales and their offers are flying in.  One student is delighted to have received.....

Sixth Form Examination Results

6th Exam Results Sixth Form Students were celebrating at School as they received their results.  Excellent grades were achieved at both AS and A2 level with almost all students from Year 13 gaining the qualifications required to start their university courses in September.

Record Breaking GCSE Results

Helen Newell It Students were shouting with joy as record breaking GCSE results were announced at School! The results saw 78% of students achieving five or more A* - C grades, (65% including Maths and English). Students performed well at all ability levels.Special congratulations should go to Rosie Clarke, Raquel Gracia, Katie Harbach, Jenna Norman, Emma Powell and Megan Turner who achieved ten A's and A*'s.
