Every three years our students choose a new school charity. Previous charities have included international development charity, Tearfund and more recently, Church Urban Fund. Through fun charity days and other fund raising initiatives we have raised over £13,000, thanks to the efforts of students, parents/carers and staff. Students are now in the process of choosing a new school charity and enlarging our offering.
Several times a year we also organise food collections for our local food banks which we have close ties with, giving them an essential boost of supplies as they work with local families in times of crisis. Our Sixth Formers give their time through our enrichment programme, with St Saviour’s Church food bank, Restore and running a new open lunch project for the local community.
In addition to all this we have a good relationship with one of our local care homes. Music students in Year 10 visit to perform pieces they are practising for the residents and Sixth Formers, through the enrichment programme, spend quality time with them.
