Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope you enjoy reading our prospectus and that it provides you with an understanding of The Bishop Wand Church of England School’s ethos and values.
As a school, we strive to achieve outstanding academic outcomes in an environment where every child is valued. Our drive for academic successes is based around the School Mission Statement: ‘Realising God-given potential’ developing our students to becoming confident, articulate members of a global society. In the most recent inspections our School was rated Outstanding in every aspect by SIAMS, and Ofsted continue to judge the School as good, most importantly students continue to leave our School at both GCSE and A level with outcomes which are amongst the best in Surrey.
I am proud to lead a Church school with a Sixth Form where we can offer your child an inclusive 11-19 education in a friendly, caring and Christian environment.
We believe our School is a learning community and place great importance on developing the interests and skills of every individual student, so valuing their unique worth. Our fundamental expectation of students and their behaviour is that they strive to do their best; respect each other and work together to create an exceptional learning environment.
Developing a positive working partnership between home and school is fundamental to the educational and spiritual growth of your child and therefore we work closely with parents/carers to establish a relationship which reinforces our ethos and expectations for the highest standards in behaviour, uniform, attendance and work ethic.
Fundamentally, we put the child at the centre of everything we do and believe children succeed when they are happy in their learning and while we continually strive to improve the quality of education and learning on offer, the wellbeing of your child comes first.
If you would like to visit our School and see this in practice, l invite you to join one of our school tours.
