Governors and Friends Fund This fund supports the School's mission that each student will realise their God-given potential. Over the last three years we are delighted that the Fund provided: £45,000 for computers and the network that all students benefit from £20,000 for interactive whiteboards, projectors etc. £25,000 for repairs to the swimming pool £300 to support pupil visits to Senegal Half the cost of having a Chaplain...and more. We also pay buildings insurance premiums and, as a Voluntary Aided school must provide 10% of building project costs. We are very grateful for the generous support of parents, who make monthly contributions by standing order and provide the bulk of our income. All families are encouraged to contribute if they can (the recommended amount is £17 per month for the family). Forms to set up standing orders and confirm gift aid status can be downloaded from this website. The Fund is a charity registered with the Charity Commission. Because of this, if parents gift aid their contributions we can reclaim the tax - for every £100 gift aided the school receives £128. Our charitable objects are to advance the education of the pupils of the Bishop Wand School by providing or assisting in the provision of educational, recreational and other facilities in augmentation of those financed by the Local Authority, the Department for Education and Science or the London Diocesan Board for Schools. Matched giving Many companies will help charities through a matched giving scheme. Some will match pound for pound, and others will even double match donations made to registered charities by its employees. If you are making a gift to the Foundation, please check with your Payroll or HR department whether your company operates a scheme like this as it could make your donation worth even more to us.
The Governors Fund is a registered Charity, the Charity Number is 1081558
