Dame Kelly Holmes Visit The Bishop Wand School Sports Partnership The Bishop Wand School Sports Partnership had a very exciting visitor to the school on Tuesday 29th September. Dame Kelly Holmes visited The Bishop Wand Church Of England School and met with Young Sports Ambassadors from 9 Partnership schools. The students were thrilled at having the opportunity, to speak with Dame Kelly Holmes about their passion for sport and their role in developing sporting opportunities for their peers. The pupils commented on how open and friendly she was and her personable approach was fantastic. Dame Kelly had the opportunity to observe some excellent sporting activities led by The Bishop Wand Community Sports Leaders. These included, Tag Rubgy, Multi-sports activities and also cheerleading which links in with the FIA Go Girls Initiative. The children found Kelly's speech truly engaging and inspirational and were delighted with the opportunity to see Kelly's Olympic medals and question her about her incredible sporting journey. We believe that her inspirational visit will continue to leave a lasting legacy amongst our leaders.
