At The Bishop Wand Church of England School the catering service is provided by Surrey Commercial Services. The food is freshly produced daily on site by our dedicated Catering Team led by the Catering Manager, Mrs Power.
In partnership with the School, Commercial Services focus on healthy eating and offer a wide range of freshly made and branded items but students will have a choice of what to eat.
There is a full range of food from the traditional two course main meal, pasta and jacket potatoes with a selection of hot and cold toppings every day and, pizza, hot wraps, sandwiches, baguettes, cold pasta salads, salads, fresh fruit and healthy desserts as well as healthy drinks.
- Wherever possible, we use only British produce, and source locally
- We use free range eggs.
- Our ingredients are linked to Marine Stewardship Council and Red Tractor
- Our suppliers actively participate in reducing food miles where possible
- We don't add extra salt to any of our meals.

Cashless Catering System
The School operates a Cashless Catering System whereby students use their finger to access their account to make purchases. Students can credit their account via the units located in the catering area or by cheque, made payable to Surrey Commercial Services. The School also operates the Parentmail online payment system, which allows parent/carers to credit student accounts online with payment being made by debit or credit card and other services such as Paypal. If you would like more information about Parentmail, such asarranging for a registration email to be sent. please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
One of the positive benefits of the cashless catering systems is that parents/carers can specify the amount of money their child can spend each day, to a maximum of £6.00. Also, via the Parentmail system parent/caters can also view the type of purchases their child has made.
Furthermore parents/carers can restrict access to certain foods if required. Any parent/carer wishing to specify a daily spend limit or discuss dietary requirements can contact Mrs Power, School Catering Manager in writing at the School or by email email@example.com
