What about homework?
Learning that takes place in lessons will be reinforced and supplemented by learning out of school. This home learning will often be set by your teacher, but you are encouraged to research and revise at other times too. Around exam times you should be supplementing structured home learning with revision of your own, and we will support you with strategies to organise this.
Homework is set to:
• consolidate and extend work covered in class or prepare for new learning activities;
• develop research skills;
• have further opportunity for independent work;
• show progress and understanding;
• further enhance your study skills e.g. planning, time management and self-discipline and create opportunities for discussion.
How often will I receive homework?
In year 7, you will need to do about 30 to 45 minutes of homework per subject per week. Normally you will get several days to complete this work as we understand you might have other activities. However, we do recommend you try to do your homework on the night it was set.
